Charlène Robichaud
Co-owner / Brewer

My name is Charlène, but my friends call me 'Char'. Born in Montreal, QC but spent most of my childhood in the Maritimes. During my 20's I lived in Edmonton, Alberta for a short time where my brother-in-law was the Master Brewer of a local micro brewery. This is when I learned to approciate real craft beer, learned to brew it, and experiment with flavour. I've been back in Nova Scotia for 20+ years, settled down in Dartmouth with my wife and 2 sons. I have now been brewing craft beer for over 20 years. This once hobby naturally progressed to going pro and starting Hardisty Brewing Co.

Our People

Laura Barbour
Co-owner / Business Manager

This dream of owning a brewery has happened because of Laura's ability to wade through goverment paperwork and licensing. With a background in Traditional Chinease Medicine, Laura has brought her knowledge of herbs and food energetics to develop our menu of non-alcoholic drinks.

Amber Turner
Brewer

Amber has been part of the team since 2021. Brewing beer was not her first career but she has embraced this world of sugar, yeast, and water and has continued to learn, support, and brew the recipes we give her. The brewery would not be where it is at today without her work to produce great beer.

Sam Purcell
Head Chef

Sam joined the team Nov 2023, when the brewery was expanding and a restaurant was the plan. Sam brings a passion for charcuterie, and the artistry of display.  Equally committed to supporting local

In March of 2020 Hardisty Brewing Co. launched at the same time as the first COVID lockdown in Nova Scotia. Perfect timing, right? No, but we rolled with it and we introduced ourselves to Colby Village with home delivery once a week.

Hardisty Brew is a 'nano' brewery with big dreams. Since we started we have grown out of our 'brew kitchen' that had the capacity to brew six to seven hundred liters a month,  to a new loaction with a 2bbl brewery that has 3x the production capacity.

Visit us at 958 Cole Harbour Rd. to experience hand crafted beverages paired with charcuterie celebrating local food. Cold beer is also available to go, and a take-out menu for charcuterie.
